Print on Demand (POD) is a good way of getting into print quickly and often inexpensively. Here are some things to think about:

  • Writing you manuscript and then writing endless proposals with only a small percentage of a chance of getting picked up by a traditional publisher. Rejection is tough.
  • If you book is really specialized, it may not get the opportunity to see the light of day with traditional publishers.
  • Print on Demand publishers often offer a marketing package, but remember, you are the best person to market your own book and there is plenty of help available to help you understand how to do so.
  • You don’t want to wait for twelve to twenty-four months for you book to find its way to the marketplace.
